![]() ![]() "In fact," Her Emblem spoke, having a youthful yet proper tone of voice. "Do not fret, though it is very much like a wedding, you are not romantically bound to your Emblem." A few of her colleagues shared a few chuckles and silent laughter amongst each other, the old knight however had a reassuring look upon his face. While she did occasionally thought about settling down with that special someone, she didn't think she had to face the commitment of an relationship so soon. "W-wait Sir, are you sure this is how the ceremony is supposed to go? This reminds me of the weddings people had in my time." She stuttered in confusion. Then, like a swift thrust to the chest, it hit her. A vow? Now that she thought about it, this whole event felt strangely familiar. This had Alear mentally do a double take. ![]() In order to form a stronger bond, the two of you must make a Vow." Vander explained. Unlike weapons however, they can't be misused for they have a will of their own. They're heroes from an alternative time and world, and they can help strengthen our abilities when we call upon them. "Relax dear Alear, that is what we call an Emblem. The divine dragon was momentarily spooked by the abrupt appearance of the regal specter, but Vander was there help her calm down. Suddenly, a wisp of blue shot out of the gem, changing its shape into that of a refined prince with locks of blue with an rapier strapped to his side. She inspected it for a spell, admiring all the ornate details etched into the ring before slipping onto her ring finger. An attendant of the church holding a cushion walked up to Alear, sitting atop it was a golden ring with a gem that shone like the bright blue sky. "Good, next the bearer will give you a ring that best suits your skill set and personality." The knight continued. Regardless, she took one final step onto the altar. The divine dragon walked through the benches, a few of her future allies cheered her on and gave some encouraging words, which made her slightly confused. First, you must walk to the altar." He answered. "Why yes, I shall explain it to you step by step. "Likewise General Vander, but could you perhaps explain to me how this Ceremony is performed?" ' For a warrior whose seen their fair share of battles, he has an awfully tender expression.' She noted in her thoughts. "Good morning Alear, I'm glad you've participated in the Ceremony." Vander said, a gentle smile could be seen on the knight's face. A few locals and her soon-to-be comrades on the battlefield were seated on the benches, the old general standing in front of the altar seemed to have anticipated the divine dragon's arrival. She parted the grand cathedral doors and walked into what appeared to be an altar. Vander had invited her to be a part of the event, which it probably meant she was to be chosen, Alear deduced. Alear already struggled to comprehend being in the present day, the fact that other worlds existed independently from Elyos made her head spin, so she tried not to think of it too much. Today was the day of the ceremony, where a strong warrior is to be given a ring, containing the essence of a hero or heroine from another realm. The one thing that she was familiar with was the art of swordsmanship, something that has persisted against the sands of time. The deceptively young divine dragon had much to learn in Elyos. From the way the people spoke, the houses they lived in, and what was accepted by broader society. Everything was different from a thousand years ago. ![]()
